Talk 20th October

Lorna Windham on Deaths, Disasters and Dastardly Deeds
This month South Shields Local History Group are looking forward to welcoming Lorna Windham as their speaker on Monday, 20th October. A published author and poet, Lorna is also known for her talks on historical crimes given at venues all over the North East.
Based on her book 'Deaths, Disasters and Dastardly Deeds', which was published in 2012, her talk about the darker side of our area's history features a variety of extraordinary events including body snatching, floods and a daring French raid on our coast.
The meeting will be held in the theatre, downstairs in South Shields Central Library, from 5pm to 6.45pm and visitors are welcome at a charge of £1. For further details please contact the reference desk in the library on 424 7864
