The East Coast War Channels project introduced by Eric Wilton, National Trust South Tyne Group
South Shields Local History Group is looking forward to welcoming Eric Wilton to talk to their members on Monday, May 15th. Eric is General Manager for the National Trust’s South of Tyne Group and he has recently secured funding for research into a project researching the East Coast War Channels.
We live on a beautiful stretch of coastline that has been the location of a great deal of tragedy in the past. The project is to uncover and record a wealth of lost information and the team from Souter Lighthouse are eager to involve members of our group and any other people who have an interest in their research.
In his talk to the Group, Eric will give details of their project and how people can become involved in the various aspects they plan to investigate. It promises to be both an interesting and engaging evening and visitors are very welcome to join us, at a charge of £1.
The meeting is held in Room A, upstairs in the Cleadon Park Library between 5.15 - 6.45pm.
