The Heyday of the Postcard, talk by Janis Blower
On Monday, 20th November we are pleased to welcome our Patron, Janis Blower, as the speaker.  Janis is well known and respected throughout the town for her unique contribution to our understanding of our past.

Janis’ talk will take us back to the heyday of the postcard, from Victorian times up to the Second World War, with a frequent and efficient postal service they were the social media of their day.  She will be looking at the back as well as the front to uncover the funny, poignant and sometimes mysterious messages that they conveyed.

The meeting will be held in Room A, upstairs in Cleadon Park Library (beside the roundabout at the end of Prince Edward Road) and runs from 5.15 to 6.45pm.
As As always, we will be pleased to welcome visitors at a charge of £1.
