The Stained Glass Windows of Durham Cathedral, by Art Historian, Jean Stokes
On Monday, 18th March, South Shields Local History Group is hosting a talk, ‘The Stained Glass Windows of Durham Cathedral’ by their fellow member and Art Historian, Jean Stokes. A volunteer at the Cathedral, Jean will take an in depth look both at the technique and the stories behind the individual windows, most of which date from the Victorian period.
To find out more about these beautiful additions to the much admired, nine hundred year old building, visitors are welcome to come along at a charge of £1. The Group meets between 5.15 – 6.45pm upstairs in Room A, in Cleadon Park Library, at the end of Prince Edward Road.
