Discovering Anglo-Saxon Northumbria, talk by Alan NewhamAt one time, Anglo-Saxon Northumbria stretched northwards from the Humber River to the Firth of Forth and westwards to the Solway Firth and its rich history is still being studied and exploration continues through archaeological excavation. The illustrated talk will discuss three recent and important excavations. Further illustrations will follow, exploring some Anglo-Saxon churches in Northumberland and along the A69 road.
The meeting will take place at Cleadon Park Library at the Nook, upstairs in Room A, on Monday 16th March between 5.15 and 6.45pm.
It promises to be both an interesting and engaging meeting and visitors are very welcome to join us at a charge of £1.
